The Thyroid stimulates the release of dopamine, one of the 4 main neurotransmitters associated with OCD and GAD. Someone emailed me and wrote… I am confused some say that cruciferous vegetables are good for hypothyroidism and some strictly restrict consume these vegetables. What is the exact answer. People have different opinions, in part I believe because our body chemistries are all different. I have a suggestion which may help you. I would avoid all cruciferous vegetables for 2 weeks while taking your temperature every morning before you arise in the morning and keeping a record of it. Then add cruciferous vegetables for 2 weeks in heavy duty amounts, taking your temperature again every morning. Then compare the two. If your temperatures went down at all, it indicates the vegetables were causing a strain on your thyroid. I believe is the best indicator. I think overdoing anything can cause a problem. And cruciferous vegetables, raw in large amounts in some, seems to pull the thyroid function down a little. But there are such good nutrients in cruciferous vegetables, I hate for people to lose out on them unnecessarily. LIST OF CRUCIFEROUS VEGETABLES
